Texas Rangers & FC Dallas: What to Watch this Weekend in DFW

NBA action has finally ended. Perhaps it’s the absence of our beloved Dallas Mavericks but this season seemed to drag on forever. Nevertheless, the action picked up in the playoffs and the Finals were a blast to watch. Midweek we discussed the best way to build an NBA franchise – the Miami Heat Model or the San Antonio Model. In case you missed it check out this quick two-part series – Part 1 & Part 2.

The Dallas Stars may not be playing but you still have some fantastic hockey to watch. There is simply nothing better in sports than playoff hockey and this year is no different. Get your final fix this weekend for soon it, like basketball, will be gone.

Texas Rangers

After showing home fans some of the worst baseball in recent memory, the Rangers mustered up a little bit of “fight” and delivered a hard-fought series against division leaders, Oakland A’s. This weekend the Rangers travel to St. Louis to take on the Cards. While this series is sandwiched in between Oakland and the NY Yankees it should be every bit as important and nearly as fun to watch. Holland is expected to start Friday night and Darvish on Sunday night. More good news? Mitch Moreland is off the DL for the St. Louis series too. Less than a week after the return of Kinsler the Rangers will get Moreland back. This offense should finally get going once again.

FC Dallas

Last weekend FC Dallas was shut out for the first time this year. The Portland Timbers are considered by many the 2nd best team and top opponent to FC Dallas. They sit only 2 points behind Dallas and will meet again in a rematch next Wednesday. While that game is very tantalizing Dallas will be wise to keep their sights on this weekend’s opponent, Sporting KC.

Expect Dallas to come out strong and play the high energy game we’ve grown accustomed to. Catch the game

Saturday 6/15

Vs. Sporting KC 7:30pm
