Martin Perez to Replace Yu Darvish
ESPN reported earlier, rookie Martin Perez will be replacing starting pitcher and resident ace, Yu Darvish on the mound this weekend against the St Louis Cardinals. Darvish will be given extra rest and is scheduled to pitch Tuesday against the NY Yankees.
The weekend rotation mixes around as a result. According to the Star-Telegram’s Drew Davison, Tepesch will pitch Saturday in Darvish’s place and Perez will pitch Saturday.
This will be a great opportunity to judge the Rangers rotation. Holland pitched last night, and is on track to be a playoff top 3 pitcher again. Tepesch needs to prove he’s a starter and not future long man. Perez has the opportunity to show why he’s the top pitching prospect.
Texas Rangers & FC Dallas: What to Watch this Weekend in DFW
NBA action has finally ended. Perhaps the noticeable absence from our beloved Dallas Mavericks played a part but this season seemed to drag on forever. Nevertheless, the action picked up in the playoffs and the Finals were a blast to watch. Midweek we discussed the best way to build an NBA franchise – the Miami Heat Model or the San Antonio Model. Check it out if you haven’t already.
The Dallas Stars may not be playing but you still have some fantastic hockey to watch. There is simply nothing better in sports than playoff hockey and this year is no different. Get your final fix this weekend for soon it, like basketball, will be gone.
After showing home fans some of the worst baseball in recent memory, the Rangers mustered up a little bit of “fight” and delivered a hard fought series against division leaders, Oakland A’s. This weekend the Rangers travel to St. Louis to take on the Cards. While this series is sandwhiched in between Oakland and the NY Yankees it should be every bit as important and nearly as fun to watch. More good news? Mitch Moreland is off the DL for the St. Louis series too. Less than a week after the return of Kinsler the Rangers will get Moreland back. This offense should finally get going once again.

Last weekend FC Dallas was shut out for the first time this year. The Portland Timbers are considered by many the 2nd best team and top opponent to FC Dallas. They sit only 2 points behind Dallas and will meet again in a rematch next Wednesday. While that game is very tantalizing Dallas will be wise to keep their sights on this weekend’s opponent, Sporting KC.
Expect Dallas to come out strong and play the high energy game we’ve grown accustomed to. Catch the game
