The Dallas Mavericks are Prepared to go All-In on Dwight Howard.

With Chris Paul now seemingly off the market the Dallas Mavericks have one last hope – to sign Dwight Howard. Dwight Howard is the last Superstar available and the Mavericks will need to give it everything they got if they want to lure him.

Last season the Mavericks tried to sign Deron Williams but lost out to the New Jersey Nets. The Mavs, once the front-runner for his services, made a poor effort in recruiting and lost out. This season the Clippers have all but locked Chris Paul up with the addition of Doc Rivers. Dwight Howard is the last option available to the Mavericks.

Howard, coming off a painful season with the LA Lakers, may leave major money on the table for a shot at a more comfortable situation elsewhere. His top suitors are the Dallas Mavericks, Atlanta Hawks, and Houston Rockets. The Rockets are the frontrunner so far but everything will change once Howard starts his visits.

The Mavericks cannot afford to give anything less than 100% in this recruitment. They need Howard plus additional talent if they hope to build a contender before Dirk retires. Without Howard the Mavericks have no hope. None. They pillaged the roster too much.

Plan B?

Don’t ask.
