Texas Rangers & FC Dallas: What to Watch this Weekend in DFW

Ah, the lull of summer. The NBA season is now gone in one brilliant flash. The Stanley Cup reminded us all how playoff hockey is simply amazing. The Cowboys are stuck between the offseason program and training camp (hopefully no one gets arrested). But fear not! The lull of summer sports still provides some great contests to watch.

Texas Rangers

It was only a couple weeks ago the Texas Rangers were in their worst losing streak of the year. They lost series after series and gave up first place in the division to the hated Oakland A’s. Kinsler comes back from injury and everything seemed to get back on track.

The bats are getting hot and the pitchers are regaining some confidence. Now the Rangers are in a virtual dead heat with the A’s for first place. Get used to it because it appears it’s going to be like this all year. The Rangers host the Reds this weekend in a 3-game series. Pitchers to watch are Martin Perez (Friday) and Yu Darvish (Sunday)

FC Dallas

FC Dallas lost again to the Portland Timbers but this time at home. The Timbers earned their first ever win in Texas and FC Dallas lost their first home game of the season. The loss to the Timbers was their second in less than two weeks. FC Dallas looks to shake off the bad play and get back on track this weekend.
