Texas Rangers & FC Dallas: What to Watch this Weekend in DFW

Football is on the way so let’s give one baseball and soccer one last weekend of our undivided attention shall we? The Rangers and FC Dallas are both positioned for playoff runs but need to push through this rough stretch first. FC Dallas is in the middle of a horrible winless streak while the Rangers are just trying to find enough uninjured players to field a team.

The All-Star break couldn’t have come at a better time. The Rangers are running out of pitchers and desperately need to rest their tired arms. Darvish is spending some time on the DL to try to refresh for the intense 2nd half of the season. He should be back next week which means the Rangers must get through this weekend without him.

Barring a trade, two important postseason pitchers will be on the mound this weekend. Derek Holland will pitch tonight and Martin Perez on Saturday. Both have been playing well and have the ability to play even better.

If you haven’t seen Perez pitch yet, this is your chance. If the Rangers make a trade for more proven pitching, it will likely involve Perez. This is a good chance to see what the Rangers may potentially give up. Hopefully Perez is lights-out and convinces Jon Daniels to keep this future ace.

FC Dallas

The slide for FC Dallas has been severe. FC Dallas has not won since 6/12 and needs to get back on track soon. They recently signed Argentine midfielder Mauro Diaz in the hope he can be both a spark and a building block for the club. For more on that visit FC Dallas web page.
