Dallas Cowboys Roster Moves Begin: Updated Player Cuts and Ratliff to the PUP

According to NBC Sports and Pro Football Talk the Dallas Cowboys have placed DT Jay Ratliff on the PUP list today. This means Ratliff will not be able to play for the Cowboys the first 6 weeks of the season. Being on the PUP will not use a roster spot and will allow the Cowboys to keep someone else on the roster until he returns.

OG/C Ryan Cook and DE Tyrone Crawford have been placed on IR, officially ending their 2013 season. Not surprisingly 4th string QB Nick Stevens was one of the first cuts made. LB Deon Lacy, K Brett Maher, OG Dennis Godfrey, and CB Brandon Underwood were also on the list of relatively unsurprising cuts today.

More surprising were the early cuts of WRs Jared Green, Eric Rogers, and Anthony Amos who figured to last until the final cuts. TE Colin Cochart was also among the cuts made today by the Cowboys as they worked to get their roster down to the required 75. It’s not over yet.

Next week the Cowboys need to cut down to the Final 53 so there are still plenty of tough decisions ahead.
