Week 4 sees the Dallas Cowboys travel to San Diego to face the Chargers.   This is an extremely important game for both teams.  The Chargers are trying to avoid going 1-3 and the Cowboys are trying to get some wins with a tough stretch of games before the bye.

It will be interesting to see if the Cowboys defence can continue its strong play.  Demarcus Ware has been on fire this season.  JJ Wilcox had a strong debut last week, it will be cool to see if he can build on that.

Phillip Rivers is playing good football right now and seems to be playing with a chip on his shoulder.  Tony Romo is playing really good football as well and this could be a shoot-out.  The Cowboys need to keep the run game going with Demarco Murray and get Dez involved early and often.

With a tough stretch over the next month and a half I almost see this as a must win game for the Cowboys.  If they lose here then they will lose an opportunity to build a cushion in the division.

Prediction:  Demarco Murray has a big day as does Tony Romo, Cowboys win 34-20

The Cowboys need to avoid The Big Let-Down they have become known for. All too often the Cowboys fall apart immediately following impressive victories. Last week was impressive. How the Cowboys play today will say a lot about what Cowboys fans can expect from their team in 2013.

If the Cowboys play a solid and clean game, void of mental errors and half-assedness, then the Cowboys may have turned the corner. If the game is the typical sloppy play and effort fans have grown accustomed to, then season expectations need to be adjusted.

Next week is Denver so a loss today coupled with a likely loss next week could plunge Dallas right back into the NFC East logjam.

A win today increases confidence and general team character and will remove some pressure from the up-coming Denver game.

This game is about the season as a whole more than the Chargers themselves. The Chargers are beaten and bruised. They are certainly no joke but they are so depleted the Cowboys should be able to win if they properly execute.

I agree with Jake - DeMarco Murray should break 20 carries and 100 yards and have a great day today. I also expect the Tight Ends to be more involved today in the passing game.

Prediction: Dallas 24 San Diego 17
