Have you always wanted to be a Sports Writer? Here’s your chance. At Sport DFW you can cover the Cowboys, Rangers, Mavericks, Stars, FC Dallas or basically any North Texas sport you can think of. Whether your area of expertise is limited to one team are multiple teams, you could be a valuable contributor on Sport DFW.

Do you think you have what it takes?

Currently here at SportDFW.com we are looking for writers who can primarily focus on the following teams:

  • Dallas Stars/NHL Fan writer needed
  • Dallas Cowboys/ NFL Fan writer needed
  • Dallas Mavericks/NBA Fan writer needed
  • TCU/SMU/North Texas/ NCAA Fan writer needed

Part of the mission of the FanSided Network is to encourage our community of readers to share their opinions and thoughts on their favorite teams. Our writers don’t hold back and we don’t expect our readers to either. We want to give you the best coverage and opinions on your favorite team from the fan perspective that is so often missing from traditional sports media. We believe sports coverage doesn’t have to be dry, boring and without opinion.

As a result, we are expanding our staff here at Sport DFW to give you more content and a broader perspective. We are currently accepting applications for open staff writer positions.

Staff writers are expected to submit at least one article per week. These positions are strictly volunteer and are unpaid, although some of our former writers have moved into paid staff positions as vacancies and opportunities arose. Being a writer for a FanSided blog also offers excellent exposure, opportunities to talk to and meet players/coaches, and a chance to sharpen not only your writing skills, but your view of your favorite team. There is tremendous opportunity for growth within FanSided to those who seek it. FanSided is currently partners with Sports illustrated, and your articles will be featured on their website as well.

How To Apply: If you are interested in joining the writing staff here at Sport DFW the application process is simple.

  1. First – complete an online application at http://fansided.com/join-fansided/ including a brief 400-500 word original sample of your work relating to a DFW area sport.
  2. Second – email (The Sport DFW Editor, Reid Hanson) at [email protected] to confirm you have submitted the application. After reviewing applications you can expect a response within the next two weeks.

We look forward to hearing from you!
