This is a game that the Cowboys should and must win.  The Vikings season is a wash after their brutal start which is due to poor QB play and bad defensive play.  The Cowboys are hanging onto a one game lead in the East and can’t seem to catch any momentum this season.  With a game in New Orleans next week Dallas has to find a way to win this game.

Minnesota seems to be prepping Christian Ponder for the start.  Josh Freeman looks like he is going to need a little time to adjust to the playbook.  Whoever starts for the Vikings it wont really matter, the key to stopping the Vikings offense is stopping Adrian Peterson.  If the Cowboys can limit his impact then there is no reason that they should lose this game.  However this is the Cowboys we are talking about.

On offense the Cowboys have to be smart.  Dallas can’t run the ball for the life of them and with Brian Waters now out, pass protection will likely become a bigger issue for them.  The Cowboys are going to have to find a way to give Tony some time in the pocket.  When teams have loaded the box on the Cowboys this season Dallas has had   a hard time making them pay.  Look for quick throws from Romo early on, if DeMarco Murray plays and plays well then it will help the passing game in a big way.  Since Murrays injury the running game has been extremely in-effective.

For the Cowboys the plan is simple, limit the impact of Jarred Allen and Adrian Peterson,  play mistake free football and protect Romo.  They should be able to handle the Vikings on Sunday and if they have problems this week then they are in trouble.

Key Cowboy:  Jason Witten has to make some plays in this ball-game.  The offences recent struggles coincides directly with his inability to make plays in the passing-game.

Prediction:  Instead of finding a way to lose the Cowboys find a way to win behind a strong performance from Tony Romo and beat the Vikings 28-13
