The Dallas Cowboys Are Texas Toast!

This Cowboys team is a mess, the offense is a mess, the defense is a mess and there is no hope what-so-ever for this team moving forward. Whoever made the decision to bring in Monte Kiffin needs to be punished.  If it was Jason Garrett’s call then he has to go, if it was Jerry Jones then he needs to step back.  Kiffin is an old man in a young mans game.  The defense is not the only problem though, this offense is a joke and aside from the Broncos game, has been all season.

I really wanted Jason Garrett to have success this year, I think he is a good coach and a good motivator, but I think this Franchise needs to be purged.  Bill Callahan doesn’t seem to be doing a good job, Monte Kiffin took a bad defence and made it much, much worse, so it is time to cleanse Valley Ranch from these out-dated coaches and players.

If the Cowboys want to have different results then they have to move on from the same old problems and bring in some new blood.  So long Demarcus Ware, Jason Witten, Bill Callahan and Monte Kiffin, and most likely Jason Garrett too.  Those that are not pulling their share have to go, and the sooner the better.

The one positive trait that the Cowboys have had under Garrett was that they did not get blown out of games.  Then this season they have been pasted by the Chargers and now the Saints.  My Pre-Season hope is so far gone that I can’t even remember that feeling anymore.  I am done kidding myself because this team is toast.  There are too many stupid things happening in this Organization, they don’t target Dez Bryant, they switch to a stupid defensive scheme, bring in bad Free Agents (Mackenzie Bernadeau, Nate Livings), everything about this team stinks.

The Cowboys have no chance of having a big run after the bye to make the Playoffs.  If anyone believes that all of a sudden the offense will find its rhythm or the defense will know what sport they are playing are kidding them-selves.  The Cowboys will be lucky to finish 7-9.

Let the purge begin…

Do you really think that Jerry Jones, the person who is responsible for all of this mess, is capable of making changes necessary to turn things around? Only in our dreams.

  • Earl Robertson

Why can’t Jerry get what two coaches already got this year??

  • Jd

Pasted by the Chargers, did you watch the game? A fumble at the goal line by Williams and the fact that Callahan completely abandoned the run, we lose by 11 & we got pasted, wow.
I guess the 1 point loss to Kansas City was a bad game. I guess holding the Eagle’s to 3 points in their building, knocking out Foles & having a depleted defense is bad. I guess scoring 48 points against Denver, out gaining them in total yards & losing by a field goal because Romo throws a pick while tripping over his offensive line man’s foot is terrible. And I guess despite giving up 623 yards to a Detroit team, where Stafford just threw the ball up for grabs to CJ and said, here, catch it, but still needing just 1 first down to win the game and, we didn’t have Murray, which I’ll contend if we did, we win, is bad too.
Yeah, we’re 500, just got destroyed by the Saints, yes our defense is completely decimated and yes we’re going to play the Giants off our bye week, in their building. Who is on a 3 game winning streak.
But are we serious about this? The Giants have been blown out in 4 of 6 games and absolutely embarrassed by the Panthers, before they were the Panthers we know them to be now. Kc scored their highest point total against them. And while neither the Giantsmnor us have beaten any team of consequence, we did beat them already. And that game was over until a Dallas secondary, completely confused with their coverage made a mistake. Instead of someone calling a time out, the Cowboys inexplicably were wqfok) waving their hands around like, who am I supposed to cover & where am I supposed to be? Eli recognized that, and hit Cruz with an 80 yard bomb & got the Giants back in the game. And even go back & listen to Michael Strahan & Bob papa, both who said after the game, if that never happens and Dallas just calls time out, that game is never close.
So before we call them Texas toast and say, here we go again, different season, same results. Let’s see how they do against the Giants. Because if they lose to the Giants, we’ll see the same repetitive article we’ve seen for 3 years now, same Cowboys. But if they win, we’ll see hundreds of articles sayingn1 of 2 things….. 1) they’re supposed to beat the Giants, they already did and they’re terrible, or 2) the Cowboys may have figured some things out & a division title & trip to the playoffs is theirs to lose.

    • TheJaikster

Did you happen to watch the offense in those games you mentioned? Sickening…

      • Jimmy D

Of course it was. My point for my post was more about the fact that, even though our offense has been awful since the Denver game, the Giants, Redskins & philly’s offense is better?
And besides the fact that we beat all 3, and didn’t play well offensively in any of those games & were deleted on defense, call in us Texas toast based off of the Saint’s game is rather absurd.
And believe me, If Dallas plays like they have over the past month, they won’t beat the Giants. But if they can actually find balance & Austin is healthy, we can do things on offense & move the ball and sustain drives.

With all the bad moves Jerry has made and will continue to make. Because let’s be honest, he’s not stepping down as gm. With the Bad coaching hirings, awful personal decisions, terrible drafts & the worst one of them all, the Romo contract extension. Need I remind everyone, before all this mayhem ensued, we had back to back opportunities to go and play for a SP, with Jerry as gm.
Please don’t misunderstand me, this is by means a, I like Jerry, he’spour guy post. It’s just factual evidence that we’ve won with him. In 06, was it Jerry who botched a 22 yard field goal hold to cost us applayoff win, no, that was Romo. Was it Jerry who missed a wide open Patrick crayton over the middle for a first down that would pretty much ended the playoff game against the Giants? Was it Jerry who took 2 inexcusable sacks late in the 4th quarter on back to back drives while driving that left us to punt, no that was Romo. And was it Jerry, who on the final possession of that playoff game who threw the interception in the end zone on the final play that lost us the game and definitely a trip to the Super Bowl, no, that was Romo, AGAIN.
And as I said earlier, the biggest mistake Jerry has made as gm was the Romo extension. We can talk about him hiring puppet coaches & signing high priced players to awful contracts & screwing up drafts. But essentially what the NFL comes down to is a franchise, elite qb. If you have one you win, if you don’t, you won’t. Ask Cincinnati, Houston and Atlanta. 3 organizations run rather well, and look at em. 2 teams we’re better than with qb’s who can’t & won’t win useless games, let alone big games. & the other, Cincinnati, who has all the talent in the world to contend for a super bowl. What are they missing, Ummm, a franchise qb. And did I forget to mention 2 other long time all time great organizations who can’t win and are run okay, Miami & Washington. We all know jerry isn’t a gm. But this, get a real gm thing is old. Everyone’s right, Jerry the guy, who 3 years in a row destroyed our defense with injuries & made Romo throw pick after pick in huge game after huge game, my bad.
Seattle, Carolina, Kansas City, New England, the Jets, and the Saints, all teams either leading their division or currently hold goldok) holding a playoff spot. They all have their defenses, minus one or 2 players missing. The Cowboys, are you kidding me, 10, yes 10 starters and rotational players out for most of the season and we’re still in first place. My god, we had our entire starting front 4, Spencer (IR), Ratliff, Hatcher and ware all out at the same time during games. No other team that’s in thepplayoff picture would or could withstand those kinds of injuries.
And absolutely, Jerry needs to step down. And he needs to fire Callahan, Kiffin & Garrett the day after our season is over. And make THE RIGHT MOVES. Marinelli DC & hire Pep Hamilton as either HC or OC. Then start over.

    • ctcowboy1968

Jd, I hear what you are saying. I totally agree with the coaching changes, promotion of Marinelli and hiring that you listed. One slight comment, Romo did not miss Crayton on the Giant playoff pass. Crayton dropped that pass.

      • Jimmy D

Yes, you’re right. I didn’t have time to come back and make that correction. Thank you for the correction bud.

  • jrcowboy49

And Jerrah should reflect on his terrible draft decisions using the 2013 NFL
draft as one example. Poor value for trading the 18th pick, allowing SF to draft high performing safety Reid, drafting a OC in round 1 that could have been had in round 2, and not drafting a OG, OT, DT, or DE. As for the drafts under this idiot, Jerrah’s chickens have come home to roost!
The Cowboys record of 134-134 since 1997 is the smoking gun and would be the
    head of any GM!
Unacceptable! We need a GM who understands football, allows the Coaches to
    coach, and recognizes talent!
Dallas is an average talented football team at best and the fans deserve
    better. Let the purge begin!

    • TheJaikster

Except for the Escobar pick, I like the Draft. But I agree Reid would have been a good pick.

  • ctcowboy1968

Jake your glass is not only half empty, it’s bone dry. The next two games are MUST wins. If that doesn’t happen, then yes the Boys are done. I disagree that JG has ever been HC quality. Marinelli is the only coach worthy of keeping. JJ isn’t going anywhere. Stephen is just as bad. Neither knows what they are doing. The team needs coaches that actually know how to adjust, use the players strengths, and stop drafting the sizzle.

  • Jimmy D

Couple of questions. And please be honest, if you hate the ideas, it’s cool.
Forget about the last 4 and a half years too.
Would anyone have traded Romo to the Jets, prior to the 09 season. Along with both our number 3′s that year, didn’t have a 1 or 2. Our number 1 & 3 in 10 & our number 2 in 11. For the Jets number 1 in 09 and their number 2 in 11?
Would anyone trade Dez in the off season to, pick a team, for their number 1 & 2 this year & number 2 next year?
And would anyone try to make as much can space as possible, letting guys like Hatcher, Austin, Murray, Hannah, Durant, Scandrick or Claiborne, Orton, Randle and going after hakeem nicks and Jared Allen?
