Dallas Cowboys Need Eagles to Keep Pace

While watching the Cardinals at the Eagles on Sunday you can bet your house that I was cheering for the Cardinals to win that game. The truth is that I will always be cheering for any NFC East opponent, aside from the Cowboys’ of course. For the Cowboys however, it could be really advantageous in the end, for the Eagles to keep pace with the Cowboys. It will force Dallas to play it’s best ball down the stretch, and if they can’t do that then they don’t belong in the playoff’s.

Let’s face it the best case (but least likely) scenario for the Dallas Cowboys, is for each of these teams to win-out and for Dallas to beat the Eagles in week 17. I mean how many questions would that answer for this Cowboys team? Do you really want the Eagles to stumble down the stretch and have the Cowboys get into the tournament by default? There definitely is a part of me that would take that, but that is not my preference. You want to go into the playoffs playing good, confident football.

No matter how you slice it, the Cowboys control their own destiny, and if they don’t make the playoff’s they have nobody to blame but themselves. They have battled adversity all Season long, and there is no reason for them to stop now. You have to realize that both Philadelphia and Dallas have very tough games left, I would say that both schedules are on par with each other. It does not get any better than this, for a fan, or a Player, or a Coach. This is where you want to be.

For Dallas, you want that week 17 match against the Eagles to be for all the marbles. This should be an exciting month of football, lets hope the wife understands.
