It’s not often a team scores 112 points in four quarters of basketball and still finds a way to lose, but that’s exactly what happened last time these two teams met on January 3rd. In the Clippers 119 to 112 victory over the Mavs, Los Angeles abused Dallas in the paint and on the boards. DeAndre Jordon blew up having a career night scoring 25 points on 11 of 14 shooting. He and Blake Griffin combined to collect 33 rebounds between them. Oh yeah, they did it without Chris Paul in the second half too.

The Dallas Mavericks enter tonight’s game against the LA Clippers with a 23-16 record and holding onto the 7th playoff spot in the West. The Clippers come in with a 26-13 record. Both teams have won 3 in a row and are looking for their 4th.

The status of Shawn Marion is looking better by the minute as he looks to return from injury tonight. Wayne Ellington recently made an appearance in the stat book scoring 12 points last time out. If Dallas can pick up their interior defense against the Clippers bigs, they may have a chance.
