What better way to gain momentum in conference play than by winning on the road.
UNT (10-7, 1-2 C-USA) sailed over the Marshall Thundering Herd (6-12, 0-3 C-USA) at Marshall Thursday night winning 80-65.
The win marks North Texas’ first Conference-USA victory of the season.
UNT cruised over Marshall for the entire duration of the game finishing at exactly 50-percent from the field. By halftime, UNT was up 39-27 at a field goal percentage of 53.3-percent with contributions from junior guard, Jordan Williams.
Williams posted his second career double-double with a team-high of 20 points and 10 rebounds.
The combined efforts of Chris Jones, who collected a game high of four steals and eight assists, and forward Colin Voss, who was just one board shy of collecting his fourth double-double with 16 points and nine rebounds, allowed UNT to maintain control in their hands throughout the game.
UNT continues their travel on the road to Charlotte, North Carolina as they take on the 49ers Saturday Jan. 18 at 6 p.m. central time.
Charlotte (11-5, 2-1 C-USA) is currently ranked at number five in the conference in comparison to UNT at number 11. However, coming off another road win shall up the ante in the Eagles hoping to return to the Super Pit with their third straight road victory.
The game will be available via Time Warner Cable’s SportsChannel as well as color commentary via KNTU 88.1 FM.
