Fellow Cowboys fan blasted me for not picking an offensive lineman higher than the 5th round in my recent mock draft.  While I maintain that defense should be the focus, the incredible display put on by a number of o-lineman this past weekend has got me on their side.

On the next page is a few tackles Dallas might consider in the draft this coming May, and the page after that is a few Guards.  Given Doug Free‘s 2015 contract expiration, it seems that tackle is the more immediate need.  Plus, Ronald Leary and Mackenzy Bernadeau played well as the season went on.  Anyway, no one is sure what will happen with Brian Waters, and Ray Dominguez has been knocking on the door for some time now.  Still, some of the interior talent may be too good to pass up.

Without further adieu, here are the Linemen, the names of whom you should remembers…

Well. It’s about time somebody started thinking about fixing the motor on this Cowboys offense. If, in this draft, we could replace both guards with two big ole meaner than a five-legged goat upgrades, I’d be a very happy Dallas fan. If we could draft a back-up/replacement for Free, as well, then this Dallas team would have a road grader offensive line that would make, not take, big lanes for Murray and Romo and whoever else they put back there for the next decade. If Dallas is serious about making a Super Bowl run, the run begins at Offensive Guard!

Would love to see someone with a mean streak and the strength similar to HOFer Larry Allen.

Dakota Dozier and Jon Halapio looked good on Saturday as well. Even with the glaring DL need, I’d be hard pressed to pass Lewan if he’s there at 16. The kid is a beast.

DL is still the #1 priority. But Lewan would be a steal at 16. Need to upgrade Berny. Leary should get even better in his 2nd year. Cyril Richardson in the 2 – 3 round. The youth on this line would be set for years.
