The QBs are complete as are the WRs. The TEs, RBs, and O-linemen are officially in the books as well. Now the NFL Combine moves on to something the Cowboys REALLY need – The Defensive Line.
Sure the Cowboys need an upgrade on the O-Line and maybe a little depth at WR with the impending disbanding of Miles Austin, but the D-Line is where the Cowboys really need the upgrades. With 3 of 4 starting spots wide open, expect the Cowboys to draft 4 or more defensive linemen this draft.
Lucky for us, the defensive linemen take the stage today in Indianapolis at the NFL Combine.
The NFL Combine is currently underway, and for a few lucky athletes ( http://www.nfl.com/combine/participants ) the dream is soon to be realized. Also known as the Underwear Olympics, the NFL Combine measures draft eligible college football players from all conceivable angles. Obviously height and weight, speed and quickness, jumping and agility are among those tangible skills being measured. But also intelligence, personality, and other psychological traits are measured.
Love it or hate it. This is big business.
Every year a workout warrior is discovered. Someone with blazing speed, or amazing strength, or something extraordinary to distinguish themselves at the Combine. That same person who otherwise disappears on game film. Right or wrong, we see them rocket up in value as a result. Who will be this year’s workout warrior? You’ll have to watch to see.
Watch the NFL Combine on NFL Network or online at http://www.nfl.com/combine/live. Coverage begins at 9:00 AM EST.
