The three North Texas basketball seniors have another chance to leave it all on the hardwood in green and white jerseys.
The Conference-USA Championship kicks off March 11 at the Don Haskins Center in El Paso, Texas.
UNT will take on Rice at 4:30 p.m. central time.
UNT fell five-points short to the Owls in their first meeting of the season on Feb. 16. However, head coach Tony Benford said North Texas will be ready for Rice as they are familiar with their game.
UNT could not secure a bye in the conference tournament after the Tulsa Golden Hurricanes managed to slip away on Thursday, 68-79.
The loss to Tulsa was senior night at The Super Pit, acknowledging the three seniors: Vertrail Vaughns, Alzee Williams, and Brandan Walton.
Vaughns was named one of five members of the Conference-USA All-Academic team on Thursday, earning a cumulative 3.20 GPA. Vaughns holds rankings on the court as well, including 9th in C-USA play at 80-percent from the free throw line.
Williams recently became the 20th player to the program’s history for players who have reached the 1,000-point mark. Williams shared a game-high with Walton of 20-points each against Tulsa.
The C-USA Championship begins on March 11 and will continue until the finals on March 15 at 10:35 a.m. central time.
