SMU tops the list of snubs from this year’s NCAA Tournament. The 23-9 Mustangs never heard their named called during the CBS Selection Show after fans and players packed Moody Coliseum for the event last night. Despite being ranked 25 in last week’s AP poll, Larry Brown’s squad will settle for the NIT instead.

Wellman also told Sports Illustrated  the committee selected North Carolina State as the last team in. The Wolfpack’s win over Syracuse in the ACC Quarterfinals proved to be the difference maker for their inclusion into the Big Dance.

Mustang fans can complain all they want, but the Ponies ultimately controlled their own destiny. There were plenty of missed opportunities that could have sealed their at-large bid. Let’s take a look at the top three reasons SMU won’t be dancing this March.
