Dallas Cowboys Sign Former Star RB Ryan Williams

Multiple sources are now reporting the Dallas Cowboys have signed RB Ryan Williams. After completing what many refer to as, an impressive workout, former Hokie and Cardinal RB just found a home in Dallas. The former Virginia Tech star running back was drafted in the second round (38 overall) by the Arizona Cardinals. Despite injury concerns in college, expectations were high for the well-rounded RB. Sadly injuries continued to plague him in AZ as well and he only played 5 games in his 3 years in Arizona.

Major knee and shoulder injuries hampered Williams his 3 years in Arizona causing him to miss the entire 2013 season. Shortly after the 2014 Draft the Cardinals released the former star RB preferring cheaper and more reliable options.

Ryan Williams now claims to be 100% for the first time and is ready to prove something.

Says Williams,

Every ounce of of blood in my body, man, every inch of skin. I want to come into this game and leave it with a legacy. Not a legacy of being hurt, a legacy of being a guy you can talk about for years to come…

If healthy (big “if”), Williams is a complete back. At 5’9” 212lbs, Williams can effectively pound it between the tackles, pass catch, pass block, & break tackles. Not known as a burner, Williams also has a surprising knack for the big play.

Injured all through college, injuries haunting him in the pros, dallas being lackluster due to injury.. Why sign this guy?

    • Tom Dobbins

I would guess they got him cheap and are going to use him to back up Murray.

    • JoeDaBeast

Probably easier to use this guy as a back-up to extend his career, opposed to an every down back.

He wasn’t injured all throughout college. He redshirted — then 1655 yards as RS fresh, 477 yards on 110 carries the next year. (Note: His second year in action VT had Darren Evans and David Wilson… both NFL calibur but unfortunately have all been hit by injuries. Wilson had a very serious neck injury last year.

I Still think there is one more player with a recent history of injuries we havent signed yet, and it is Really pissing me off.

    • Earl Robertson

Lol yea this guy has been nothing but worthless I would bet he isn’t going to do anything

If he is healthy watch out. The Cardinals were raving about him his first year (during summer camp) before he caught the injury bug.
