This past weekend former Dallas Cowboy, Terrell Owens, spoke at the Moonlight and Miracles charity event in El Paso, TX. I was lucky enough to be in attendance and take part in a group Q&A with the much maligned former Dallas Cowboy. Earlier today I revealed what he had to say about Jerry Jones. Now we look at who he thinks was the best WR, Coach, and Team.
This is Part 2 of the Terrell Owners Q&A.
TO on who is the greatest wide receiver of all-time
Jerry Rice is the greatest of all time. He is number 1 in my book. I can be number 1a… Hands down it’s Jerry Rice. He set that standard. He set that bar for myself and for other receivers that played the game of football.
TO on the best coach he ever played for
That would be Andy Reid. He utilized me to the best of my abilities. That’s all I ever could have wanted or asked for. Especially playing the game as a receiver to have a quarterback like Donavan McNabb that was throwing the ball. I played in 21 games [in Philadelphia] and I had 20 touchdowns and that tells you what I was doing under the coaching of Andy Reid.
When asked about what was the best team he played on, Terrell initially dodged the question but he eventually started talking about the good times in Philly. He then transitioned to his favorite coach without any prompting. Both involved the Eagles so it’s safe to assume those were his favorite years and favorite team despite the tumultuous ending.
The Terrell Owens Q&A was recorded and transcribed personally so minor human error is possible. I tried to include all relevant material and clarified when necessary.
