With the 16th pick in the 2014 NFL Draft, the Dallas Cowboys selected Zack Martin, a versatile offensive guard and tackle from Notre Dame. Johnny Manziel was still on the board and so was Ha Ha Clinton-Dix, but the Cowboys elected to make the smart decision and draft an NFL-ready player in Martin. Mackenzy Bernadeau is not starter-material in this league and Martin will be an immediate upgrade. Another thing to remember is that Martin will be Doug Free‘s replacement when his time in Dallas runs up. By selecting Martin, the Cowboys drafted an offensive linemen for the third time in the past four years. Let’s take a more in-depth look at Martin and how he will impact the Cowboys moving forward.
