Dallas Cowboys Place Too Much Pressure On Tony Romo

Let’s face it folks, no matter how dedicated the Cowboys are to the run this season, or how much this Defense improves, this season will be all about Tony Romo‘s play. That’s not really news. The overall record of most teams in the League are predicated on how their QB plays. That being said, most QB’s can afford a bad stretch throughout the season. Tony Romo has not had that luxury in the past, and he will not have that luxury this year.

Look back to the Bronco’s game last year. Romo played lights-out but one mistake cost them the game. 2014 may look a lot like that Broncos game.

In order for the Cowboys to make a playoff run, Romo is going to have to wipe out the demons that have haunted him.

Give the Cowboys credit, they have built an awesome and young o-line to protect their QB. He has a really good Running Back behind him as well. The Cowboys MUST use DeMarco Murray this year or the results will be the same. The amount of pressure on Romo’s shoulders has been ridiculous in the past few years. The time is now to try to alleviate some of that pressure.

This Defense has been on the decline that last few years as well. Last season in particular, they let Romo and this Offense down far too many times. They were so bad that they actually have nowhere to go but up. If they can make the required leap it will help the Offense out tremendously. It is actually a miracle that this team managed to finish 8-8 last year.

The key for Romo and the Offense this year will be ball protection. They have to find a way to control the ball by running more consistently, which I think they will. This defense has a lot of question marks and the goal of this Offense has to be to keep them off of the field. Regardless of how everyone else plays, Romo will need an MVP type of year for this team to have a shot. There are a lot of questions that remain to be answered.

Unfortunately some of those questions still involve Romo.

Why are excuses and apologies being written now? It’s normally after the fact not before the fact. Go big or go home, but first, pull up your panties!

You know what sir? I completely agree with you..

Romo best chance for cowboys the defense just needs better coaching and better players. Not sure if that will happen with Romo or not. Cowboys spent a lot of draft picks and money on the defense side of ball the problem they got more guys that Can’t Play that could Play! That what cracks me up when people say The Cowboys got all this talent but can’t win! What are they watching?

Nobody forced Romo to sign that $108 Mil contract. If he doesn’t want the pressure then don’t take all that money. So enough with the excuses already.

No, no, no. If he has to rely on run support to be great them he’s not going to be great. Don’t get me wrong, I love the run game, but the pressure needs to be on Romo to raise him to the next level. The defense is the weak link in this scenario.
