The Dallas Cowboys are the # 1 seed, have the best record in the NFC, and have home field advantage throughout the playoffs. However, the critics don’t believe the Cowboys will win the Super Bowl.

As soon as Tony Romo went down with a broken lower vertebra, the critics picked the Dallas Cowboys to finish last in the NFC East. The Cowboys weren’t expected to muster any wins in Romo’s absence.

Surprisingly, rookie quarterback Dak Prescott has played at a Pro Bowl level and led the Cowboys to a 13-3 record. Fellow rookie running back Ezekiel Elliott led the league in rushing and is one of the best runners in the NFL.

Not to mention, these rookie phenoms are in the running for NFL MVP.

Plus, the Cowboys defense stepped up and improved its play throughout the season, especially in the last five games of the season. The no-name defense has recorded 16 sacks and forced 10 turnovers in those games.

That’s really good for a defense that was viewed as the team’s primary weakness.

Dallas had a lot to celebrate this year, like tying a franchise record with 13 victories, setting another franchise record with 11 straight wins, winning the division, and finding their new franchise quarterback.

More from Dallas Cowboys

Despite all of these accomplishments, you’d expect this team to be the favorites to win the Super Bowl. But they’re not.

Still, the critics and the doubters believe the Cowboys are one and done come playoff time!

If you watch ESPN or any other sports network, you’ll see the HATERS giving all sorts of reasons why the Cowboys won’t win the Super Bowl, or better yet, lose in the divisional round of the playoffs.

One of the main Cowboys haters is Stephen A. Smith of ESPN’s First Take. Smith is a notorious hater of Dallas. Regardless of the accolades of Dak and Zeke, Smith is defiant that the Cowboys will not win the Super Bowl.

Smith believes this because of the meddling ways of owner and General Manager Jerry Jones, not necessarily because of Dallas not executing plays or exhibiting a fatal flaw.

But other analysts are very critical of the Cowboys representing the NFC in the Super Bowl. In fact, some are predicting Aaron Rodgers and his Green Bay Packers as the favorites to represent the conference and win the Super Bowl.

Others are predicting the hated New York Giants as making a surprising run to win it all, along with the Seattle Seahawks and the Atlanta Falcons.

The critics have given several reasons why Dallas will lose in the playoffs. From having a rookie signal caller to Jerry Jones stirring up drama to only winning three playoff games in the last 20 years, I’ve heard them all.

The one constant is Dak being a rookie.

Many critics feel like Dak can’t take the Cowboys past the the divisional round, let alone the NFC championship game.

Another reason is that a rookie signal caller has never won a Super Bowl. For some reason, the critics feel as if Dak is going to choke and forget how to play the quarterback position.

Remember, these are the same doubters who picked Dallas to finish last in the division.

I believe that is by far one of mot the illogical cliches in pro football. I recognize a rookie quarterback has never won a Super Bowl as the field general. But that doesn’t mean it can never happen.

If there is a player who can shatter that myth, it’s Dakota Prescott. All this fourth rounder did was take the reigns and lead his team on an 11-game winning streak, 13 total victories and a first round bye.

Did I mention Dak was better than first round picks Carson Wentz and Jared Goff, who will be sitting home watching the Cowboys in the playoffs?

Further, Dak finished the regular season with a passer rating of 104.9, recorded as the best passer rating for a rookie in league history. Out of 459 pass attempts, Dak had the lowest interception percentage for a rookie signal caller in NFL history.

Robert Griffin III held the previous record of 102. 4, set in 2012.

In reality, this team has been proving the critics wrong, every week to be exact. Every game presented a new challenge for this team and its rookie QB.

Week in and week out, the critics would sing a different song, “how many games can Dallas win with a rookie QB?” “Can Dak win on the road in Green Bay?” “Dallas’ front four can’t get to the QB!” “Will Romo get his job back?”

This is the nonsense Dallas dealt with all year long, even after beating teams in convincing fashion. The winning streak, being crowned NFC East champs, producing Pro Bowl rookies, and being the #1 seed means absolutely nothing to the critics.

America’s Team gets no love.

That’s fine because Dak and Co. have proven the doubters wrong thus far.
