Dictionary.com defines the “best” as being of the highest quality or excellence. There is no doubt Dirk Nowitzki brings the highest quality.

When an NBA power forward comes to mind, basketball fanatics think of greats such as Tim Duncan, Karl Malone and Kevin Garnett. But at the power forward position there is no question Dirk Nowitzki is the greatest of all time.

Dictionary.com defines the “best” as being of the highest quality or excellence. There is no doubt Dirk brings the highest quality when it comes to exemplifying the power forward position. The seven footer from Germany began his career in Dallas 19 years ago and since then he has changed the landscape of the NBA.

In his first game for the Mavs, Dirk scored two points and as time went  on he would average more than just two points. For his career, the Dallas-sensation has averaged 21.8 points per game. Yes, Dirk is someone you can rely on night after night, but his points per game is not the only thing that makes him special.

More from Dallas Mavericks

Signature Move: If there is one thing that Dirk brought to the NBA it is his ability to score from anywhere.

Unlike a majority of players, Dirk has the ability to score inside the paint, outside the box, and from the three point line. His style is something truly unique.

NBA defenders have the most difficult time backing up or guarding Dirk. His signature move of doing a turnaround off one foot. It’s beautiful, accurate, and truly untouchable.

The turnaround is a move many players now use around the world, and it is largely because of Dirk Nowitzki.

Content of team:  Besides creating one of the most iconic signature moves in NBA history, another thing Dirk proved is that like Walt Disney, “one man can do it all.” Like most NBA  greats, the great German did not have that All-Star he could rely on. Tim Duncan had Tony Parker and Manu Ginobli, Kevin Garnett had Ray Allen and Paul Pierce and while they may not be power forwards, Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant had help as well.

While yes, Jason Kidd and Shawn Marion were both All-Stars at some point, they were far past their primes when they joined Dirk. Number 41  may have just one NBA championship, but if he had another All-Star on his squad during his career, there is no telling how many more titles he could have had. Dirk Nowitzki is truly “you can do it all” kind of player.

Career:  Dirk’s resume is nothing out of the ordinary.  His resume speaks for itself. Dallas’ greatest player is a 13 time All-Star, 2006-2007 NBA MVP and 2011 Finals MVP. Not to mention he has won player on the month six times and player of the week 16 times.

The GOAT also has 30,000 career points, something only five other NBA players have done. He is currently number six on the All-Time scoring list and if his luck proves true, he could easily move up the ladder.

Next: It's Time for this Dallas Maverick to Calm Down

To be on the same platform with players like Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant is something really wonderful. There is no question about it, Dirk is the goat when it comes to the power forward position.
