2. St. Louis Rams (from Washington)
It’s no mystery St Louis wants to trade back from here and grab an OT a few spots back. Since I don’t officially project draft trades I will assume St Louis stays put and picks the man they want anyway. Watkins is tempting but the Rams really need to keep QB Sam Bradford clean.
3. Jacksonville Jaguars
ATL could always trade up to #2 to grab Mack ahead of the Jags but in this case Mack falls to #3. If Gus Bradley (Builder of the Seattle Defense) is given the choice he will be hard-pressed to pass on Mack as his new LEO Rusher. Bradley knows it’s all about the passrush and he will be focused on that in this draft. The new QB target for the Jags would be Carr or Bridgewater in the second.
4. Cleveland Browns
The Browns need a QB in the worst way and should resist the urge to go after WR Sammy Watkins. Don’t be surprised if they are too gun-shy to pull the trigger on a QB and instead trade back and collect more picks.
5. Oakland Raiders
Signing Donald Penn in FA takes some of the OT needs off the priority list. Given the love for Watkins as of late – the Raiders would be fortunate to land the top WR at #5.
6. Atlanta Falcons
OT, Texas A&M
All signs point to Atlanta attempting to trade up for a shot at Clowney or Mack. If they stay at 6 they will probably be wise to take Matthews.
7. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
The electrifying options will not tempt Tampa who know their needs and are happy to get one of the best OT’s in the draft as a cornerstone to their team.
8. Minnesota Vikings
The Vikings pounce on the top remaining defensive player. Mike Zimmer has no problem looking for a QB in Round 2.
9. Buffalo Bills
WR, Texas A&M
With the top LTs off the board the Bills look to WR.
10. Detroit Lions
CB, Oklahoma State
Detroit gets their man all along. They need a top-flight CB in the worst way and Gilbert seems to stand out above the rest for them.
11. Tennessee Titans
CB, Michigan State
Tennessee addressed OT in free agency and now looks at OLB and CB in the draft. Anthony Barr is tempting but after losing Alterran Verner in FA, the Titans will go for a blue chip CB in round #1.
12. New York Giants
OT, Notre Dame
The G-men need to rebuild their DL after losing Tuck and Joseph in FA. Donald, Jernigan, and Barr are all tempting but at the end of the day, The Giants need Eli upright to compete.
13. St. Louis Rams
CB, Ohio State
WR Mike Evans is what St Louis was hoping for at #13 when they passed on Watkins at #2. With the Top-2 WRs gone St Louis looks at defensive back. Roby has red flags but is extremely talented.
14. Chicago Bears
Chicago was banking on Donald falling to them so they could seamlessly replace Henry Melton. They are forced to look DE at #14 with Donald gone to the Vikings at #8.
15. Pittsburgh Steelers
WR, Oregon State
The Steelers could go a number of ways. TE Ebron would be tempting as would WR Evans (if available). Kony Ealy and Anthony Barr are tempting pass-rushers too. The Steelers really need another receiving threat and Cooks can be dangerous from all over the field.
