With only a few weeks left in the Dallas Cowboys’ season, it looks like the dominoes are falling for an incredible post-season run.

If you had asked at the start of the 2016 NFL season, after Tony Romo went down, how the Dallas Cowboys would do, no one would honestly have said they would be 11-1 at this point in the season. Not only has this season been a lot of fun to watch, but it also shows what the future might just become. Sure, there are still issues to be dealt with like finding a pass rush, but dominoes are falling for the Cowboys.

The next game up is the New York Football Giants. While just about anything can happen in a rivalry game, the Dallas Cowboys did get some good news. Jason Pierre-Paul being out helps the Cowboys more than just regarding pass blocking. Paul is an undisputed leader on the Giants’ defense. His absence will be felt from a pass rush, run stopping, and leadership standpoint.

More from Dallas Cowboys

The following game against the surging Tampa Bay Buccaneers has now seen their star wide receiver Cecil Shorts go down and is out for the rest of the season. While the Bucs have been surging lately, this injury will be hard to overcome if the Cowboys game becomes a track meet.

The defense is good, but we have seen how good defenses are doing against this potent Dallas offense.

Then the Detroit Lions are the next to last game of the season and are playing solid defense right now. The Lions did receive some bad news on their center Travis Swanson being out with a brain injury. They are getting pretty depleted on the offensive side of the ball with injuries, and it could be a boon when the Cowboys face them.

Again, as long as the Cowboys stay healthy, there is no reason they can’t win this game.

The last game of the season comes against the hated Eagles. The Eagles started the season on fire, however, recently have become very mediocre and very beatable. Whether it is Carson Wentz hitting the rookie wall or teams have figured them out, the Eagles seem to be slowing down and are all but out of the playoff push.

Now that the Dallas Cowboys have made the playoffs, it seems things are still moving in their direction. In the NFC there doesn’t appear to be a huge threat to the Cowboys. The once darling Seattle Seahawks have seen their share of vital injuries and have sputtered as of late on offense. Right now the Cowboys have to be the favorite to represent the NFC in the Super Bowl. In the AFC, the injury to Rob Gronkowski seems to have slowed the Patriots bandwagon and seemingly puts the AFC up in the air.

Not everything has to do with injuries that appear to be going the way of the Cowboys. Recently, rookie linebacker Jaylon Smith has been seen doing some on-field work and was activated from the NFI list. While he still may not play this season, there is hope he could see the field. The other good news for the Cowboys is that Barry Church is back and Morris Claiborne is eyeing a few more weeks before a return. He could be back for the playoffs.

If all stays on course, the season has turned into a blessing for the Cowboys. While they still have work to do to prepare for the playoffs, dominoes are falling into place for the Cowboys.  The Cowboys will be the first team in history to have four straight night games. Then a rivalry game to wrap up the season, Dallas is looking good, and the fans are happy.
