7th Round
OT Justin Britt Missouri
Profile: The only reason Britt is projected to be here is because of injuries. Britt has the size and speed to play both tackle spots and would be a perfect fit as a swing tackle for the Cowboys in 2014 (and compete for starter at RT in 2015). He has played excellent against the SEC’s best and has been an anchor for the Tigers. The Cowboys would be thrilled to add Britt to the team as they groom him to replace Free in 2015.
Review
The Cowboys would have liked to address the offensive line sooner than the seventh round but were ecstatic to see players like Stone and Britt fall. Both players would only offer depth in 2014 but have the potential to be starters down the road. Getting three defensive linemen and 2 defensive backs has to be considered a huge victory from a “needs” perspective. What’s even more impressive is all three of the D-linemen could be starters in 2014 and Ward at safety could be a starter at one of the safety spots. Every pick has potential and room for growth but none are extremely risky.
