2nd SS Craig Loston – LSU
Firstly, many are expecting the ‘Boys to draft a Free Safety, so that Barry Church can move back to the Strong position. It seems, however, that they really want Church to be their Free Safety, which is often considered the more difficult of the two positions. If that is the case, Loston would be an excellent player to line up next to him.
Most fans are hungry for a ball-hawking Safety. I am too, but an equally, if not more important trait for a Cowboys Safety to possess is speed. When you play in the same division as Victor Cruz, DeSean Jackson, and Pierre Garcon, you better have a secondary that can run. Loston has excellent speed and mature awareness. Plus, his hard-hitting style would bring an intensity that the defense has been lacking for some time.
