Round 2
OG XAVIER SU’A-FILO UCLA
In round 1 the Cowboys will clearly be looking for help on the DL. But in round 2 I believe the Cowboys will be opening their options up, looking at DL, OG, & at Safety. Remember, this mock draft isn’t just looking at an ideal situation, but rather running through a simulator. Sometime the guy you want gets picked and you’re forced to adapt.
Two Weeks ago that was precisely the case as I found no reasonable options at OG when the Cowboys were on the clock. Round after round the OG’s disappeared. It wasn’t until the 7th round when I found 2 offensive linemen at a place of value. Needless to say, that was far from ideal.
This time one of my favorite OG’s in this year’s draft was available when the Cowboys went on the clock. At 6’3” 325 lbs, Su’a-Filo is worth a 2nd round pick. He’s an athletic player with power. He could play in a man blocking scheme as well as Bill Callahan’s ZBS. Keep an eye on this guy.
