Round 7
OT Justin Britt Missouri
A Pet Cat of mine, Justin Britt. The only reason Britt is projected to fall here is because of injuries. Britt has the size and speed to play both tackle spots and would be a perfect fit as a swing tackle for the Cowboys in 2014 (and compete for starter at RT in 2015). He has played excellent against the SEC’s best and has been an anchor for the Tigers. The Cowboys would be thrilled to add Britt to the team as they use him for depth and groom him to replace Free in 2015.
Review
The Cowboys would have liked to address the Defensive Tackle position sooner than the fifth round but were happy to find a guy like McCullers available. Getting him along with those two excellent pass-rushers takes a burden off of Ware and builds a potentially fearsome unit.
Ward, the lone pick at safety, is a bit of a gamble but something about this guy just screams rising star. Again, watch his offseason performance. He looks fast on the field but he needs to prove it in the 40 and drills.
The O-line is now upgraded and built for the foreseeable future and depth was added to LB and QB.
