Round 3, Pick 78: Marcus Smith, Defensive End, Louisville
Marcus Smith is an interesting player because he has ton of potential, but he doesn’t give his full effort half the time. I could very well make an argument that Smith is the most raw player in this draft class. He is a little undersized at 6’3″ and 260 pounds. He also has experience in the 4-3 as a strongside outside linebacker, and as a defensive end. Many will be alarmed by Smith’s size, but it’s worth noting that he has some of the longest arms in the draft and he ran a 4.70 in the 40-yard dash. Smith plays bigger than he is, and the Cowboys should definitely take a chance on this guy. He could turn into a solid player with Rod Marinelli coaching him.
