Round 7, Pick: Shamar Stephen, Defensive Tackle, Connecticut
As a Connecticut football fan, I have watched Shamar Stephen for many years. The man with two first names plays with a ton of energy that I love. At 6’5″, 325 pounds, Stephen is also a big body that could take on double teams. The Cowboys will most likely not bring back Jason Hatcher, and Nick Hayden is just bad. This leaves them with holes at the defensive tackle position. The Cowboys have Ben Bass, but he has barely played in his NFL career. In my opinion, the Cowboys would benefit greatly by getting two defensive tackles in this year’s draft. In a 4-3 defense, you want a fast defensive tackle and a strong defensive tackle. Donald could be the fast guy, and Stephen could be the guy to clog the middle.
