3rd Round: Dominique Easley, Defensive Tackle, Florida
If it weren’t for his medical issues and his ACL tears, Dominique Easley would easily be a top-ten pick. He has elite athleticism, and he is the quickest off the ball. That is a trait that is vital in the 4-3 scheme for a 3-technique. Although the Cowboys signed Terrell McClain, that doesn’t mean they shouldn’t get another defensive tackle. In 2013, I was advocating for the Cowboys to draft Sheldon Richardson. As many of you know, Richardson went on to have one hell of year for the New York Jets. If there is one player that is similar to Richardson, it is definitely easy. I would be thrilled if Dallas drafted Easley in the second round too, but him in the third round was too hard to pass up on. Many teams will be scared away by his red flags, but I am all for the Cowboys taking this guy if they can.
