Round 2: Dominique Easley, Defensive Tackle, Florida

After bypassing on defense in the first round, the Cowboys have to focus on defense in the second round. Dominique Easley could end up being the best defensive player in this draft class. Easley would have gone in the top-ten if it weren’t for his ACL injuries in both of his knees. Even after signing Henry Melton in free agency, the Cowboys are in the market for another to defensive tackle. Easley is the “quick-twitch” type of defensive tackle the Cowboys are looking for and he is versatile enough to play the 1-technique position next to Melton. Pairing two traditional 3-techniques next to each other may be unorthodox, but it would create matchup problems for opposing offenses.
