5th Round

OT/OG Michael Schofield

Michigan

6’7” 301 lbs

Michael Schofield is good value pick with a fourth round grade picked in the fifth round. I was targeting Antonio Richardson for OT of the future but he was scooped up by the Redskins in the 3rd. Schofield plays tough gritty football reminiscent of a veteran player. His personality and work ethic should fit well on the Cowboys and he should be able to compete for a spot in the starting lineup.

He plays a little dirty and fights to the end. He projects best as a OG in year 1 but has experience and ability to eventually play RT when Doug Free leaves in 2015. He’s not a sure thing but I’d be surprised if Schofield didn’t replace Mackenzy Bernadeau as a starting OG in 2014.

Some of my favorite 7th round sleepers dead ahead…
