Brock Vereen, SS, Minnesota – I have no idea why Vereen is still available. I have seen as high as a 3rd round grade on him and as low as a 7th round grade. We are talking about a 6′ 200 lbs safety with 4.45 speed. The big knock on him is he only has a few interceptions and needs to work on locating the ball. The positives on him are that he is a very smart player who uses the field to his advantage and has played cornerback, nickleback, and safety. He has the ability to cover if he can improve that darn ball location. He was also on Minnesota’s special teams.

I was very surprised he was available and almost took him with the last pick. He was still there and if I was in the Cowboys’ draft room and he is there at this point in the draft, I would place his card in front of Jerry and tell him to make the phone call, don’t ask, just call.
