Lone Star Brahmas

The North American Hockey League has announced the rosters for next month’s NAHL Top Prospects Tournament and the Lone Star Brahmas will be well represented. The tournament, presented by Easton, will showcase NAHL players without an NCAA commitment at the time of selection with the exception of those who will be playing on the NAHL Selects team. February 23-24, 2015 are the dates for the tournament to be held at the Ann Arbor Ice Cube in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

Each of the four NAHL divisions and the NAHL Selects team will be represented by a 20 member roster consisting of 12 forwards, 6 defensemen and 2 goalies. In addition the USA Hockey National Team Development Program will also participate, with the NTDP 18-Team playing the South Division on February 23rd and the NTDP 17-Team facing the NAHL Selects Team on February 24th.

Lone Star will be represented by Alexey Solovyev, Anton Santesson, TJ Black, AJ Vanderbeck and Head Coach Dan Wildfong. Solovyev, Santesson and Black will be part of the South Division team while Vanderbeck will be a member of the NAHL Selects team coached by Wildfong.

In 2013 over 180 scouts attended the Top Prospects Tournament representing nearly every NHL team and NCAA Division I school. More than one third of the players who participated last season earned an NCAA D-I opportunity.
