He joined the Texas Tornado midway through the 2012/13 season and scored his first NAHL point in his second game with a second period assist. On December 14, he scored an unassisted goal against the Odessa Jackalopes for his first NAHL goal which turned out to be the game winner. Alexey finished his first season with 9 points in 39 regular season games. He followed that up with 1G – 4A and a +3 in six playoff games.
