TJ Black is in his second season manning the pipes for the Brahmas. TJ joined the squad in late November of the 2013/14 season and picked up his first win of the season on December 6 against the defending NAHL Robertson Cup Champions. The following night he logged his first NAHL shutout as the Brahmas swept the Amarillo Bulls. Down the stretch Black pulled points out of seven of his last eight starts to finish the season with a 14 – 14 – 2 record on a 2.40 GAA and a 0.923 SV%.
This season TJ has been one of the league’s best. After a rough start in which he lost his first three decisions, the 5’9” 160 pound native of Chicago has ripped off 15 wins in his last 19 games with two of his losses coming in overtime. For the season his record stands at 15 – 5 – 2 with a 1.91 GAA and a 0.916 SV%. Black currently ranks second in the league in GAA and twelfth in SV%. His two shutouts this season give him a total of six in 54 games played.
