Pre-Draft Visits’ Significance
Although many teams use pre-draft visits as bluffs in attempts to sell their draft spots to teams looking to move up, the Cowboys use it to greatly support their draft approach. Before the 2014 NFL Draft, the Cowboys met with Zack Martin, Demarcus Lawrence, Ken Bishop and Davon Coleman. All four played roles for Dallas in 2014 and the last three will play even bigger roles in 2015. Also, the Cowboys brought in Ryan Shazier, who was going to be their first-round pick before the Pittsburgh Steelers nabbed him away just a pick before the Cowboys were on the clock.
