Houston. Joey Mbu. 7. player. 123.
Despite the glaring need at the 1-technique defensive tackle position, which is the position in the interior part of the defensive line next to 3-technique defensive tackle Tyrone Crawford, I think the Cowboys will wait until the later rounds to address the positions. The reasons why are below:

1-techniques do not stay on the field for passing downs, so the position really is only for a run-stopper.

The Cowboys brought in no defensive tackles for pre-draft visits, so there’s a small chance that they may not even address the position, and instead rely on younger defensive tackles like Davon Coleman and/or Chris Whaley.

In the seventh round, it’s basically who’s left on your board, and one local product that makes sense is Houston’s Joey Mbu. He doesn’t have the best size at 6-foot-3, 315 pounds, but Mbu uses his hands extremely well and he has a nonstop motor to go with it. These two traits will be welcomed with open arms by Rod Marinelli.
. DT
