Jay Ajayi, RB, Boise State

I’ll be honest. Jay Ajayi has been a favorite of mine throughout the pre-draft process. When you watch the tape on him, the first thing that jumps out to me is his size. At 6-foot-1, 220 pounds, Ajayi is built extremely well. He’s the epitome of a shredded athlete. Ajayi has quick feet. This trait allows him to change direction with ease. His leg drive is elite and he plays with leverage, and at his size, that’s huge, as he’s basically a bowling ball.

There are concerns over his knee, as he has received some medical red flags. However, I believe the Cowboys are done giving out long-term contracts to running backs, so it wouldn’t surprise me at all if the Cowboys drafted Ajayi for him to play out his rookie year. With his size, power, and vision, Ajayi is the essence of a zone-blocking scheme running back. He would be extremely productive behind Dallas’ offensive line.
