A lot of Mavs fans might not be too high on this one but I am a firm believer in Stoudemire’s skills and his potential with the Mavs. After a buyout last season, his was picked up by the Dallas Mavericks and provided around 10 points and 5 rebounds off the bench which is exactly what the Mavs need from a back-up big man. That’s not the reason I believe he could be a fit with the Mavs again next season. When he came to the Mavs last season, he didn’t just jump in and start playing, he waited a few games and got familiar with their style of play. In certain moments, he was the guy who would come off the bench and provide a spark, even if he wasn’t scoring points. The bottom line is this: he is a very wise player who understands the game of basketball and is patient in his game. I’m not sure what kind of deal he will want, but the Mavs need to stay interested, because this guy is key to building a championship basketball team.
