Thaddeus Young
Status: Player Option
2015 Team: Minnesota Timberwolves/Brooklyn Nets
Young had been a solid starter for the 76ers until he ended up on the Wolves to start the 2014-15 season. Then, at the trade deadline, he was traded to the Nets so the Wolves could get Kevin Garnett back. He will have a player option this summer, and a rather big one at that, which he will most likely pick up so he can remain a Net. If he, for some reason decided to decline the player option, he would be a hot name on the market. Over the years, he’s averaged a solid 13-15 points along with 5-7 rebounds. That’s a starting center for bad teams and the first big off the bench for contenders. In the Mavs case, he would be perfect at backing up whoever starts at center next season. If he ever hit the open market, he would most likely have a high price tag, but Young would definitely be worth the look for the Mavs front office.
