Lone Star Brahmas Lay Foundation For Successful 2015-16 Season
By Kirk Estes
The Lone Star Brahmas participated in the NAHL Entry Draft on Tuesday June 9th amid an ever changing league landscape.
Just prior to the start of the draft it was announced that the Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees who had locked down one of the NAHL South Division playoff spots this past season would be moving to Aston, Pennsylvania. They will open the 2015/16 season as the Aston Rebels in the newly formed NAHL Eastern Division. The Rebels will join the New Jersey Jr Titans who relocated from Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, the expansion Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Knights and the Johnstown Tomahawks.

Additional changes to the alignment of the NAHL South Division could be on the horizon as the Topeka Roadrunners try to work out a lease agreement for Landon Arena at the Kansas Expo Center. The current agreement expired mid-season leaving the franchise’s future home up in the air.
After finishing the 2014/15 regular season with the second best record in the league and coming one goal short of advancing to the NAHL Robertson Cup finals, the Brahmas have some big skates to fill entering next season. They went a long way toward rebuilding the roster with their selections in the draft. Following is a round by round review of the Brahmas’ draft picks.
