The 2015 NHL season is over and the Chicago Blackhawks defeated the Tampa Bay Lightning to win the Cup, but it doesn’t end there. The NHL Draft begins on June 26th and there should be plenty of talent available for every team.

The top few picks of the draft should not surprise anyone but after that, things could get interesting. Certain teams could be going away from drafting the best player there and taking risks with lower-rated prospects. Some players could rise and some could fall.

This is how I see it going down in late June:

1. Edmonton Oilers

player. 148. This is pretty obvious. We all know McDavid is going first and he is just going to be another stellar addition to an Oilers team stacked with young talent.. Center. Erie (OHL). Connor McDavid. 1

2. Buffalo Sabres

player. 12. The Sabres had high hopes of winning the lottery and drafting Connor McDavid but I’m sure they will be okay with Eichel, the outstanding American, who is sure to have a great career.. Center. Boston U (NCAA). Jack Eichel. 2

3. Arizona Coyotes

This is another team that was expecting to win the lottery. Unfortunately for them, they were given the third pick and will most likely select Strome. He’s not McDavid or Eichel, like they had hoped, but he’s still going to be a great player.. Center. Erie (OHL). Dylan Strome. 3. player. 121

4. Toronto Maple Leafs

5. Carolina Hurricanes

Defense. Boston C (NCAA). Noah Hanifin. 5. player. 109. I don’t expect Hannifin to drop too far, but I believe the Hurricanes will take him at #5 just because of his incredible defensive talent.
