<Insert Veteran HB Here>
I’m not going fullback here for multiple reasons:
- The Dallas Cowboys view Geoff Swaim as an H-Back capable of lead-blocking like a fullback, and line-blocking like a TE.
- The Cowboys want to be absolutely sure they cover themselves at RB and signing a veteran HB as reliable depth gives them that coverage.
The Chris Johnson talk may be a little premature at this moment, but it remains a very realistic possibility with Darren McFadden mending and Ryan Williams now gone. While Chris Johnson, specifically, may or may not be the Cowboys’ top target, getting a reliable veteran, capable of excelling as a 1 cut and up runner is the predictable outcome.

Despite the history of limited FB snaps, Jason Garrett really does value the role of the FB making this prediction a little unconventional. At the end of the day, the Jones’ want to look smart letting DeMarco go to Philly, and they will make extra-sure they are golden at RB.
Tight End (4)
Geoff Swaim
As explained earlier in the RB section, Swaim is a player who can effectively play H-Back. If he is not retained then the Cowboys will want to sign him to the practice squad because he is supposed to be James Hanna’s replacement next year.
