Defensive Line (10)
DeMarcus Lawrence
Randy Gregory
Ryan Russell
Greg Hardy starts the season suspended so he will not count against the 53. The Cowboys love their depth here and will likely go deep as a result. The fringe players are Bishop, Russell, Coleman, and Jack Crawford. All will have to prove their worth to make the 53 and stay on the roster.
If Hayden and McClain stay healthy through Hardy’s suspension, Bishop may be expendable since he’s a true 1 tech DT with little versatility. Russell has the size and ability to make the team but his motor is questionable. If he gives less than 100%, you can bet Rod Marinelli won’t have much time for him.
Jack Crawford is someone coaches really like but may be found on the outside looking in when all is said and done. Davon Coleman is a talented player capable of playing 3-technique behind Tyrone Crawford. He needs to maintain health and consistency, but for now, he’ll edge out Jack Crawford.
