One way or the other, DeAndre Washington should get some interest from numerous NFL teams following next season.

Possibly the fastest runner on this list, Washington brings his share of power and effort, but he’s likely to be limited to a role similar to that of Dunbar. While slightly bigger, overall, pass protection and other physically demanding aspects of playing in the NFL might not be every day duties for this particular running back.

However, on a team that features numerous runners, Washington would make a lot of sense.

Again, his speed in the open field is nothing to overlook and his pass catching ability should keep him in consideration for a mid to late round selection.

Of course, with a bigger season than expected in the Texas Tech offense, he may end up going a bit higher.

Remembering that Dunbar is heading into a contract year and that the Cowboys just let Murray walk away after the kind of season he had, you think that owner and general manager Jerry Jones will pay what’s necessary to keep a role player like Dunbar?

I think not.

Yes, Washington could have that ‘X Factor’ that the Cowboys have an interest in next off-season.
