Aaron Green is in a very similar boat when compared to the previously discussed Linwood. Both play in the same conference and both are lining up for highly ranked programs heading into the season. TCU is currently ranked as the No.2 country in the nation – having grown up in Ft. Worth for most of my childhood, I still can’t believe what head coach Gary Patterson has done with this program over the last decade-plus.

Is Green a part of a great system or is he a great back?

The answer might be both.

Green has plenty of experience and now enters a senior season on a team that’s loaded. While his stats pale in comparison to Linwood’s, I think that Green is a better professional prospect based on his build and, at least in my opinion, Green looks like he has a little more burst and a tad more speed than his in-state counterpart.

Chances are it’s a matter of splitting hairs when it comes to Green or Linwood, but don’t be surprised if Green outperforms Linwood in the regular season finale for the Horned Frogs when TCU and Baylor go head-to-head the day after Thanksgiving Day at Amon Carter Stadium in Ft. Worth.

Yes, this is Green’s time to shine and with a dominant season, it’s possible that he’s among the first two or three running backs off the board next April.

Green is a tad smaller than Randle, but by the time he’s been in the league for the same number of years, he’ll play at about the same weight.

No, I’m not a believer that Randle is a long-term answer in Dallas, just in case that was still a question. There’s just something about a guy that steals underwear and tester cologne from department stores that I just can’t take seriously.

Green would fit into the Dallas offense just fine. Watching his acceleration on film is almost like watching a game at normal speed, except Green is stuck in fast-forward. His pass catching ability is certainly obvious and I just don’t see any glaring weaknesses to his game – and remember he’ll get a little bigger in an NFL conditioning program.

TCU is poised for a huge season and that could place Green right in the cross hairs of the Dallas scouting department. Even if the Cowboys also have a big year, as so many are expecting, Dallas would be choosing very late in the first round of the draft, precisely where Green could still be available.
