Safety (4)

Barry Church

J.J. Wilcox

Jeff Health

Danny McCray

Barry Church is a versatile, reliable, durable, and well-priced SS. He is a valuable to this team in multiple roles. J.J. Wilcox is a high-ceiling player still learning the complexities of the position. Some plays he looks like Cam Chancellor, others he looks like Roy Williams in coverage.

If the pass-rush pulls through for the Cowboys this season, J.J. Wilcox has major breakout potential. With Corey White’s and Byron Jones’ versatility to play free safety, the Cowboys can go short here if they need to.

Jeff Heath is a Jason Garrett favorite and a top special teams player, so he will get the nod over Danny McCray, should the Cowboys go shallow at the safety position.

Special Teams (3)

Dan Bailey

Chris Jones

J.P. Ladouceur

The Cowboys could trade from positions of strength in order to fill positions of weakness. Finding a better swing tackle would be nice but not many teams are bursting at the seams with offensive tackle talent. Finding a running back remains the most likely, as some teams (Dolphins) have an embarrassment of riches.

Who would you keep and who would you cut?
